Employment Verification and Reference Checks
Out of the box Hospitality Recruitment conducts reference checks and employment verifications on all candidates applying for roles with our agency to determine your suitability for the roles you are applying for.

We only begin reference checks once you have decided to apply for a specific role, unless we have discussed other options with you.

We inform all candidates of our processes both verbally and in writing at the time of registration. By applying for roles with our agency after registering and receiving this information, you consent to us conducting reference and employment checks when applying for a specific role.

If you do not agree to us contacting your referees and former employers after registering, you must notify us immediately.

We require all candidates to provide the following information when applying for a position:
  • Current resume that includes your entire employment history, including the names of the companies you worked for, the positions you held, and the dates you worked there.
  • You must be able to provide contact information for three referees who can attest to your previous employment. 
  • Former supervisors or managers must serve as referees.
  • Unless you give us permission, we will never contact your current employer.
Verification of References Completed / Details Provided:
  • We will contact the referees you have provided and ask questions to confirm your dates of employment, work performance, ability to perform your duties, and so on.
  • If the employer providing the reference check gives us permission, we will release this information to potential employers for whom you are applying for a position.
Verification of Previous Employment:
  • If you provide a mobile number for a referee, we may call the company land line to confirm their position within the company.
  • We may conduct employment verifications by contacting former employers solely to confirm your position within the company and dates of employment.
  • If you provide written references, we may contact the person on the reference to confirm they wrote the reference. We cannot accept a reference that cannot be verified.
Other Information:
  • If you choose not to apply for a position with our agency, we will not conduct any reference checks or employment verifications.
